Inline Skates, Roller Blades & Ice Skates Online in Singapore
Inline skates, also known as Rollerblades, were introduced in the 1990s as a faster, more competitive alternative to roller skates, or quad skates as they are known today. Inline skates are essentially a hard high-cut boot, usually made of a plastic composite, that have four wheels running in-line underneath, which is how they got their name.
Various forms of Inline Skating
As inline skates exploded in popularity, people began finding various creative ways of expanding upon their use. Aside from inline skating for fitness & leisure, aggressive riders began modifying the wheels to be smaller and more agile and started using them to perform stunts in the skate parks, which came to be known as Freestyle Skating. Others began incorporating them into their ice hockey games during the off season, essentially replacing their ice skates with inline skates - this came to be known as Roller Hockey.
Affordable Inline Skates & Roller Blades
While inline skates can be quite expensive, costing up to $400 for a pair, at Decathlon we leveraged on our long term partnerships with our manufacturers, our own expertise in supply chain management and our economy of scale to produce inline skates at the same quality as the competition for a fraction of the price.
Accessories & Parts - Helmets, Wheels & Kneepads
Safety comes first - which is why we stock a large collection of helmets, pads and safety accessories. Our inline skate helmets are specially designed to protect the back of the head, as studies have shown that inline skaters, especially beginners, tend to fall backward. Our safety pads come as a complete set to protect your elbows, knees and wrists, which are another particularly vulnerable part of your body when practicing this sport.
