LOCATION OF PRACTICE
Components are approved in laboratory tests, including:fabrics, buckles, straps, foam padding, zips, etc. For example, for a fabric:resistance to abrasion & tearing, colour fastness in UV light, resistance to washing, waterproofing, etc. Then a test is conducted on the finished product replicating forces on the backpack over a number of years to check the strength of assemblies:the backpack is weighted, then placed on a dummy which reproduces the movement of fast walking over thousands of cycles
10-year warranty, technical partnership
The warranty covers any defects to the backpack, excluding those resulting from normal wear and improper use. This special 10-year warranty will only be granted upon presentation of the receipt and the product. If the product is covered by warranty, it will be repaired or exchanged, free of charge. This sales warranty does not affect the statutory rights applicable in your country/state.
How is backpack volume measured?
The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardised method: we fill the main compartment as well as each pocket with little balls. Then we empty these balls into a graduated container, which gives the equivalent volume in litres.
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire lifespan, using various indicators. An overall score is assigned from A to E to help easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks etc). Decathlon is committed to displaying environmental information about its products. For more information: http://developpement-durable.decathlon.com/
How to adjust your backpack?
1 - Loosen all the straps (shoulder straps, belt, load adjuster straps). 2 - Put the backpack on. 3. - For bags of 50 l and more, place the strap on your hips (it should cover the hip bones of the pelvis) and tighten it. For smaller backpacks, the belt should be placed around the waist. 4 -Tighten the shoulder straps. 5 – Adjust load adjuster straps at your convenience. https://conseilsport.decathlon.fr/conseils/quoi-prendre-dans-son-sac-dos-de-randonnee-avec-un-pre-ado-tp_984
How to pack a backpack?
Put your bedding at the bottom. Place heavy gear (tent, camp stove, food) near your back. Pack your clothes around these items. The groundsheet should be placed under the flap and the tent beneath the pack if there is no space inside. Keep your waterproof jacket and/or fleece close to hand. Place small items for daily use (sun cream, map, glasses etc.) in the pockets. Put the water bladder in the compartment that is usually provided
Store the backpack in a dry place.
All our backpacks undergo field tests in Mont Blanc mountain range. These are conducted by users who are representative of our target market under similar conditions to those you will encounter in use.
