Water repellent component
Water repellent fabric allows water to run off its surface without seeping in. The First Heat jacket is made from water resistant materials to prolong its resistance to bad weather. This is an additional technical solution for staying dry for as long as possible on the ski slopes. You should repeat this treatment regularly using products sold in our stores to maintain these properties.
Wadding thermal lining
So that skiers feel "neither too hot, nor too cold", the garment must be able to adapt to the body's physical movement and the outside environment. We use wadding for insulation to keep you warm.The wadding is a synthetic material with a polyester base that stores a greater or lesser quantity of air depending on the size of fibres used.There are different types of wadding, including standard, technical and siliconized, which all have different properties (for warmth, lightness and suppleness...)
Thermal insulation recommendation
Dressing properly on the ski slopes. In order to keep warm and dry, we recommend using the 3-layer rule. The principle is simple: Use 3 layers of fabric, each having a particular function. Your skiing base-layer and your liner jacket must produce and retain warmth. Your ski jacket will protect you from the weather conditions. All these layers should be breathable in order to evacuate humidity.
It’s the ski jacket’s ability to allow moisture produced during exercise to escape to the outside, keeping you dry. To find out if a fabric is breathable, its evaporative resistance, called RET (standardized test ISO 11092), is measured. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. They are then tested under identical usage conditions to those that you will encounter yourself (in the snow, cold and powder snow, etc.) The design teams ensure that the programme for which the product has been designed and developed corresponds perfectly to its use on the ground.

The 100 jacket was developed and assembled to the most stringent specifications to prevent water from entering and reduce wind chill so that you can cope with bad weather (rain, snow, wind, etc.) more effectively. To check that it is waterproof, this jacket was placed in a special shower reproducing the conditions a skier has to cope with. We approved this product's waterproofing by skiing in different weather conditions for several days.

The coating is a waterproofing material spread over the inner surface of a fabric. It prevents water from seeping into the garment but allows the water vapour produced by the body's physical activity to escape. So you stay dry for greater comfort while practising your sport.
We use wadding for insulation to help keep you warm. This polyester-based synthetic material traps air, the quantity of which will depend on the size of the fibres. Wadding can be standard, high-tech or siliconised, each with its own specific properties: warmth, low weight, elasticity, etc. All the wadding materials that we use are made with recycled materials – usually plastic bottles.
