Expandable volume: 50L + 10 litres extension thanks to adjustable height upper lid. The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardised method: we fill the main compartment as well as each pocket with little balls. The balls are then emptied into a graduated container to establish the equivalent volume in litres, within a few percentage points
2kg The empty weight indicated is the weight of our standard model. There may be slight variations
How do I pack my backpack?
Put your bedding at the bottom. Place heavy equipment (tent, stove, food) near your back. Pack your clothes around these items. The groundsheet can be placed under the flap; the tent can be stored under the bag if there’s no space inside. Keep a waterproof jacket and fleece to hand. In the pockets, place small items for the day (sunscreen, map, glasses...). The water bladder should be placed in the specially designed compartment normally found along the back of the bag.
Why are our rain covers grey when some trekkers would prefer bright colours?
The grey coloured cover used for our trekking backpacks is neutral and therefore uses less dye. The component is made of BITON: this process helps us limit our carbon emissions and reduce water pollution and consumption compared to coloured models. Through these kind of small steps, Forclaz demonstrates its commitment to reducing the environmental impact of its products.
Our engineers have carried out simulated ageing tests on these backpacks. These tests were conducted on the components, seams and finished product. The results of these tests allow FORCLAZ to guarantee their bags for 10 years from the purchase date shown on the receipt
Female body shape
Our women's models have been specially designed to fit the female form (chest and hips) with more open straps and a belt shape, that is more fitted at the top, for greater comfort and freedom of movement.
Store your bag in a dry, well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight.
All our backpacks are tested by target customers in conditions similar to those encountered in real life. In particular, our "Mission Tests" bring together the product manager with people who are not affiliated with QUECHUA to test, improve and validate our products. This specific model was approved by hikers touring Mont Blanc in June 2017.
