    Buying tips
Get your child to try on both boots, while standing up, with the socks they would wear for hiking. Try on several models or sizes if necessary. Check the following two areas: the base of the heel and the front part of the foot going down. There should be no pressure points when you try them on. Don't hesitate to get your child to walk around the store. Gradually start using you shoes during your first few hiking trips to break them in.
    2
What boot size should I choose?
For hiking, try taking one shoe size up from your usual size to ensure optimum comfort when going downhill and to prevent your toes from hitting the toe box. Advice: keep your nails short and, before making your descent, check that your lacing prevents your foot from sliding towards the front of the boot.
    3
    Field tests
The comfort of all our shoes is tested when trying them on and in use by typical users under the real-life conditions you will encounter in use. Our Mission Tests bring together the product manager with people who are not affiliated with Quechua to test, develop and approve the products.
    4
    Laboratory tests
Other laboratory tests are also conducted to validate the following elements: torn eyelets and straps, bonding, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion of the sole and the components of the upper, accelerated ageing.
