Waterproofness of the garment
This garment has been shower-tested using 60 litres of water/sqm/hour for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a rain shower in the mountains.
The coating of your MH100 jacket is like a layer of "paint" applied on the underside of the fabric to make it waterproof while remaining breathable.
To find out if a fabric is breathable, its evaporative resistance RET (test based on ISO 11092) is measured. The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity evaporates, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric 9
Water-repellent properties of the component
A fabric is water repellent when it allows water to slide over its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight, breathable and warm. Water repellency is obtained by a treatment applied on the outer surface of the fabric. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifetime (recommended after every three washes). All Quechua waterproof jackets have received a water-repellent treatment.
Additional recommended products
Care products: spray or liquid water repellent treatment in the washing machine. To renew the fabric's water-repellent properties and optimise performance throughout the lifespan of your garment.
The environmental impact of the product is calculated over the entire lifecycle of the product using different indicators. A global ABCDE rating is provided to help you easily identify products with the best environmental performance by comparing products of the same type with each other (T-shirts, pants, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon is a voluntary participant in this environmental labelling initiative. For further information: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/
