The Quechua tents are tested in a laboratory (pitched tent under 200 litres/sqm/hour, the equivalent of a tropical rain shower, as well as test missions in the field. Polyester flysheet (PE) 40 deniers, coated polyurethane (inside), water repellent treatment (outer), 75D PE groundsheet. Seams waterproofed with thermobonded strips. Breathable and water repellent 15D PE room with mosquito-netted part to prevent contact with condensation.
We test all of our tents in a wind tunnel on a rotating table to expose each side of the tent to the wind. To guarantee resistance to wind, the tent must be pitched properly, tight without excess, with all guyropes set around the tent. It will remain habitable in windspeeds up to 70 km/h near the ground.
Ventilation and limitation of condensation
Room with mosquito net parts for ventilation and parts in water-repellent fabric to protect from condensation and draughts. Two top ventilations and two-way zip on the door to optimise air flow. To limit condensation inside your tent, it must be correctly pitched, the cloth tight, not excessively. The use of ventilation and good air circulation reduces the damp inside your tent.
The flysheet fabric filters UV radiation with a UPF of 30. Please note: large quantities of UV can pass through a simple open door. Protect your skin.
Complete tent made of 20% recycled materials, reducing its environmental impact. Flysheet made from 50% recycled materials. The room is made from a "spun dyed" component that reduces the quantity of water used. The poles are coloured with innovative oxidisation that does not require nitric and phosphoric acids.
Tent pole eco-design: each step counts for nature!
As designers who love and respect our playing field, we are preoccupied with the environmental impact of our products. We have decided to stop oxidisation (chemical treatment that fixes colour and produces a shiny finish by dipping the product in acid baths) of these tent poles. With a slightly "raw" appearance, they have the same resistance, strength and lifespan. properties.
Warranty & After-sales service
As designers who love our playing field, we are preoccupied with the durability of our products, that is why all our tents are designed to be repairable. You will find all spare parts (pole repairs, ...) in the store, workshop, on our website or at the address http://spi-atelier.decathlon.fr/atelier/produit/1972432 In the event of a problem, have your tent examined in your Decathlon store.
Storage: after use or cleaning, dry the tent thoroughly before storing to avoid bad smells and mould.
The waterproofing of Quechua tents is validated with the tent pitched, under 200 litres of water/sqm/H (tropical rain shower) for 4 hours, with no water passing through the seams, flaps, openings, zips, etc. The water column test (= mm Schmerber) measures the waterproofing of the fabric. Wind resistance: tents pitched in a wind tunnel on a rotating table to expose each side of the tent to the wind. We also carry out many field tests in real conditions.
