Use with tripod
The spotting scope greatly magnifies the observed object or animal. To get the very best out of your visual experience and obtain the the sharpest and most stable image possible, we strongly recommend the use of a photography type tripod. The ring half way along the scope attaches to the head of the tripod.
Comfort during observation
The eyecup can be folded out for the greater comfort of non spectacle wearers. The adjustment method we recommend is to press your eye to the eyecup and adjust it according to the shape of your face and to whether you wear glasses or not. If you are using the scope with the sun shining almost straight at you, you can pull out the extendable lens hood to reduce reflection.
Wildlife photography use: digiscoping
The spotting scope can be used as a telephoto lens with reflex cameras solely of the Nikon or Canon type. Simply unscrew the eyepiece located above the zoom adjustment ring. And use the camera adapter available from Solognac. The spotting scope then becomes a very powerful telephoto lens, corresponding to a 1000 mm to 3000 mm zoom (equivalent in 24x36 format). When using the scope as a camera lens, we recommend not zooming to more than 40x, so as to retain maximum image quality.
