    Technical Information
      • Like with any sports shoes, your hockey shoes need to fit your feet properly. First, make sure there are no pressure points. Next, ensure your foot does not slip around inside the shoe. This is especially important when playing on artificial turf. Certain models are specially designed for women's feet.
      • How to know if your shoes fit properly Plant your foot firmly on the ground. While exerting pressure down on your foot, try to move your foot in all directions in the shoe.
      • Field hockey shoes are designed with two specific features: reinforcements, especially at the front of the foot, to protect your feet from impacts from the ball, and a sole suited to field hockey playing surfaces - generally sandy or wet artificial turf - for traction.
      • Hockey should be fun. Play safely. Always wear your mouthguard, shin guards and a glove. Use hockey shoes with protective reinforcement and soles designed for your playing surface during matches and training.
      • Outsole in hard rubber with cone shaped spikes for traction. / Supple EVA midsole for cushioning. / The outsole covers the toe for extra protection from impacts from the ball. PU upper to protect against splashes, with a mesh insert for ventilation. / Rigid PU stiffener. / 3D mesh tongue and mesh outer for comfort and ventilation. / 3D mesh sockliner for comfort.
      • 290 g in size 8½
      • Field hockey shoes have different sections. Each has a specific purpose. The outsole (in contact with the ground) is generally made of rubber and has spikes. It is hard and provides traction to prevent slipping. The midsole (just above the outsole) is generally made of ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA).
      • This material provides cushioning at the heel. It may also come up on the instep to improve stability as well as form a toe cap for protection against impacts with the ball. The sockliner is in direct contact with the foot. It is generally made of foam or EVA. Its main purpose is comfort.
      • The upper is the part of your shoe that is not part of the sole assembly. It features several sections. The front section is usually made of PU and mesh fabric. On the inner and outer sides, called the quarter panel, you will often find PU reinforcements. These are frequently design-oriented inserts (brand name or specific design). A stiffener is inserted at the back of the shoe.
      • It is generally reinforced by a plastic plate to stabilise the foot and protect the Achilles tendon. On the top of the shoe is the tongue, which protects the foot from water and stones, etc.
      • These shoes were designed by our product development team comprised of field hockey players who are passionate about their sport (product managers, designers, engineers, garment designers, and prototype and lab technicians) as well as Decathlon shoe process specialists.
      • The information here was provided by the manufacturer or observed by our teams from samples received from the manufacturer.
