SPORTS PERSON'S HEIGHT
A fabric's resistance is measured using water pressure expressed in terms of the height of a water column in mm (test based on ISO 811) The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A component with a 2000 mm rating can withstand the pressure of a 2000 mm column of water (which is equivalent to a rain shower lasting 2 hours). Waterproof rating is expressed in schmerbers (for example: 2000 schmerbers).
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity can escape and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 9 < RET < 12 = very breathable fabric / 12 < RET < 20 = breathable fabric / RET > 20 = little or no breathability.
Durability of the components
Resistance to wear test: for example, we carry out laboratory tests to check that the fleeces do not pill. Colour fastness test: we check colour fastness to ensure that colours do not bleed when coming into contact with saliva. Ageing test: repeated washing must not alter the fabric's original properties, including its shape, thickness or appearance.
The fabric is rendered waterproof, and therefore windproof, by applying a coating to the inner surface. In fact, the properties of a waterproof fabric mean that it can also be certified as wind proof. It is very important to protect yourself from the wind, when moving or stationary, because of the wind's powerful chilling effect.
Elasticated cuffs. Inner lining mesh, ventilated back. Reflective elements on the front and back of the jacket. Connected pocket with a slot for headphones outlet.
Product environmental impact comparison score
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire lifespan, using various indicators. An overall score from A to E is given to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks etc.) Decathlon is committed to displaying the environmental information of its products. 1/ Machine wash (30 to 40°C): close rip-tap fastenings, gentle detergent Wash jackets and trousers inside out. Loosen straps and elastics. 2/ Avoid folding garment excessively in machine: this can damage it. 3/ Do not mix different types of clothes or colours. 4/ Do not use bleach. 5/ Rinse thoroughly followed by a gentle spin cycle. 6/ Drying option: Either line or tumble dry (low temperature, short cycle).
Store on a hanger or folded in a clean, dry place.
Our team of designers are based at the foot of Mont-Blanc, in Haute-Savoie (France). All year round, we create and develop products that are attractive, simple and technologically advanced. These are then ruthlessly tested in the field, as we remain convinced that only through rigorous testing under real-world conditions, like the ones you will be using them in, can we continue to provide you with better products than ever.
