We use recycled wadding (60 g/sqm) for insulation to help keep you warm. This synthetic material containing polyester stores more or less air, depending on the size of the fibres, to protect you from the cold.
The membrane is a very thin component applied to the inner surface of the outer fabric. This hydrophilic component prevents water from seeping in while wicking away the perspiration produced by the body. The membrane is unbeatable when it comes to staying warm and dry.
We measure a fabric's resistance to a column of water expressed in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A component with 8000 mm waterproofing therefore resists the pressure exerted by 8000 mm of water (which corresponds approximately to a two-hour shower).
These trousers are rigorously developed and assembled to prevent water from entering and to feel the wind less, to help you cope with bad weather (rain, snow, wind, etc.). To check that they are waterproof, these trousers were placed in a special shower reproducing the conditions a skier has to cope with. We approved this product's waterproofness by skiing in different conditions for several days.
The water repellent property of a fabric is its capacity to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. These trousers are made from water-repellent materials that prolong its resistance to bad weather. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating its outer surface. However, this property may deteriorate with use.
Did you know that water-repellent properties can be reactivated? To do so, dry the trousers in a tumble dryer on a synthetic cycle for 10 to 15 minutes. You can also use a waterproof spray (sold in our stores): spray the product evenly over the entire garment, then let it dry for 10-12 hours).
It is a product that lets the moisture produced by your body during exercise escape. To see if a fabric is breathable, we measure its resistance to evaporative heat (RET) in a standardised ISO 11092 test. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. 580 trousers have an RET of 11. But it is thanks to the hi-tech Wed'ze solutions (zips, ventilation, mesh) that condensation is limited inside the garment and breathability is optimised.
To keep your legs warm and dry, you need to wear 2 layers: 1 ski undergarment to wick away perspiration and 1 pair of ski trousers to protect from bad weather and keep you warm.
Our trousers have elasticated gaiters at the bottom that cover the boots. If you fall or come into contact with fresh snow, the seal created by the gaiter keeps the snow out.
Regular fit with an inner volume that allows you to wear these trousers with hi-tech underwear.
To optimise the performance and durability of your trousers, we recommend: * Machine wash at 30°C on a synthetic cycle. * Turn the product inside out. * Use a small amount of detergent. No softener. * We recommend you wring by hand. * Dry on a hanger in a warm, well-ventilated place. Do not dry clean. Do not place on a radiator.
Store on a hanger and do not fold, as this can damage the fabric coating. Dry thoroughly before storing in a dry and well-ventilated place.
