Our team developed this jacket for your baby's first sledge rides. It is reversible so that you can change your look in the blink of an eye ! This ski jacket is ideal in cold weather thanks to its thick and warm wadding. In wet weather, your baby will stay dry thanks to its waterproof printed side.
Our designers use wadding to keep the body warm. This polyester-based synthetic component traps more or less air according to its thickness. So the thicker the wadding, the more air it contains, and the warmer it is.
The resistance of a fabric to water pressure is expressed in terms of the height in mm of a water column that can be supported by the fabric (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more the fabric is waterproof. A component with a waterproof rating of 2000 mm is therefore resistant to the pressure exerted by a 2000 mm column of water. A guarantee of the jacket's quality.
How to dress your babies so they stay warm on your sledging outings?
In order to keep warm and dry, we recommend using the 3-technical-layer rule: Layer 1 or second skin, to stay dry. Layer 2 or the insulating layer, to keep the heat in. Layer 3 or protective layer, to protect from the weather conditions.
What is water repellency?
A water-repellent fabric lets water run off its surface, without absorbing it: the fabric does not soak up water and therefore remains lightweight and warm. You can see drops of water beading and running off the surface of the fabric. The water repellent property is obtained by applying a treatment to the outer surface of the fabric. This treatment needs to be renewed during the lifetime of the garment (every 3 washes).
How to restore the water-repellent properties?
To reactivate the water repellent property, wash the garment inside out on a synthetic cycle at 30°C and rinse thoroughly. You can use your usual washing powder but no fabric softener. Then let your jacket dry in the open air, flat on a drying rack. Finally, turn your garment the right way round and put it in the tumble dryer on low heat for 10 minutes. The heat will reactivate the water-repellent property of the fabric.
A place for entering your child's name in order to personalise the product. A practical feature for finding your ski suit at the crèche.
Store on a hanger and do not fold, as this can damage the fabric coating. Dry the product thoroughly before storing in a dry and well-ventilated place.
All the sledging products are tested under the real-life conditions for which they are designed: snow, cold and all the conditions you're likely to encounter when sledging. The design teams, product leaders, engineers and pattern makers ensure that the programme for which the product has been designed and developed corresponds perfectly to its use on the slopes.
