Whatever the activity, the majority of exercises are performed with your feet in contact with the ground, which is sometimes abrasive, or with a prop on which your foot will be placed (step, bike, trampoline, etc.). Wearing shoes helps to reduce friction between the foot and these items.
Wearing shoes is recommended for Aquabiking to prevent injuries from bicycle pedals (unless they are designed to be used barefoot). During Aquabiking sessions you frequently move from a sitting position to standing by pushing down on the pedals with your feet. Wearing shoes cushions your feet on the bicycle pedals.
