Designed and developed in the French Alps, this 1-2 person 3 seasons trekking tunnel tent is ultra lightweight and compact with minimalist comfort.
With its extremely compact tunnel structure, it offers a small, essential living space: 2 doors, only 1 porch, 2 pockets. Poles in sleeves for quick pitching and dismantling.

Size and living space

Bedroom length 205 cm Bedroom width 110 cm to the head, 130 cm to the shoulders and 80 cm to the feet. Height of the bedroom 95 cm Extensions (integrated poles, 1 part) at the 4 corners to increase useful volume inside the tent. 60 m wide (at widest point) porch provides storage space that doesn't obstruct bedroom entrance. Store two 50 litre backpacks maximum. 1 side pocket to store possessions.

Architecture, tent poles and tent pegs

Lightweight, shock and frost resistant aluminium pole: 7001 T6 Yunan SD70PF Ø 9 mm aluminium. Optimised square tent pegs: “anvil” head, oversized main part, extremely resistant and lightweight (7075 T6 aluminium). Non-anodised for a lower environmental impact. The single pole and 4 integrated parts form a non self-standing tunnel. This structure forms a very light tent that needs to be fixed to the ground and does not stay up alone.

Pitching/striking

Extremely quick pitching/striking. The flysheet and bedroom are pre-assembled. Insert the tent poles into the flysheet cover. It is also quick to strike. To store the tent in its bag, fold the tent in half to about the length of the bag, fold up the pole into a bundle onto the bedroom or flysheet, roll everything up tightly to slide into the bag.

Waterproofing

Forclaz tents are laboratory-tested: pitched tent, 200 litres/m²/hour (4 hours, equivalent to a tropical storm). They are also tested in the field by a sample user group. 20 denier polyester (PES) flysheet and 40D polyamide (PA) groundsheet have a polyurethane coating (inside) and silicone (exterior). Seams taped with heat-sealed strips. Multi-component bedroom combining breathability, wind protection and prevents condensation

Wind resistance

We test all our tents in a wind tunnel on a turntable where we can expose each side of the tent to the wind. To test its wind resistance, the tent must be properly pitched, taut but not stretched, with all the guy ropes in position around the tent. It should remain habitable at wind speeds of 70km/h, measured near ground level. Our tents are certified by the CSTB independent laboratory in Nantes.

Ventilation and condensation prevention

Bedroom with mosquito screen for ventilation and water-repellent fabric to protect from condensation and draughts. Large vent at front of tent and additional vent at feet end. To reduce condensation inside your tent, it must be properly pitched, with the fabric kept taut without being over-stretched. Vents and good air flow will help reduce humidity inside your tent.

Seasons

3-season tent: your tent will protect you from the harsh weather conditions you can encounter in the spring, summer or autumn. It will withstand light snowfall but is not designed to withstand heavy loads that would weigh on the structure. In case of snow, remember to shake your tent regularly in order to bring down any snow that has accumulated to avoid putting too much weight on the structure of your tent.

Eco-designed tent

The poles are coloured using an innovative anodising method which eliminates the use of nitric and phosphoric acids. Non-anodised tent pegs: Your tent pegs may have a “rough” or “used” appearance but they still have all their technical and resistant features; not coloured or anodised (no acid is used since this only has an aesthetic effect). These factors help to limit the environmental impact of your product.

As designers and users who love our playing field, we care about the durability of our products, that’s why all our tents are designed to be repairable. Durability

Your tent is designed for itinerant bivouacking, it is therefore not designed for static use in the sun. We recommend that you avoid leaving it in the sun as the ultra-light fabrics can be sensitive to UV light, that damages them.

Storage advice

after using or cleaning the tent, dry it thoroughly before storing to avoid bad odours and mould.

Tested by

The waterproof rating of the Forclaz tents is validated by placing a pitched tent under 200 L/sqm/h shower of water (tropical rain) for 4 hours, and checking that no water passes through the seams, flaps, openings, zips, etc. The water column test (= mm Schmerber) measures the waterproof rating of the fabric. We test all our tents in a wind tunnel, on a rotating table to check all 4 sides. We also perform tests on the components (abrasion, tearing, perforation, etc.)
